Impact, Indies, and Insanity: December 13, 2018
By Andy PG on December 13, 2018
Tonight on Impact, we have Cage vs Moose in a hoss battle par excellence. On top of that, two more Ultimate X Qualifiers as Dave Crist tries to join his brother when he goes against Rich Swann, while Trey Miguel of the Rascalz faces Trevor Lee.
Hey, the NFL’s Game of the Week of the Day may well be the Game of the Week, as AFC supremacy is on the line when Kansas City faces Los Angeles. The NBA doubleheader today is Lakers/Rockets and Mavs/Suns.
After the jump, your indie highlights.
Let’s take a look at the best of the wrestling outside of WWE, NJPW, and Impact — it’s your indie roundup!
- MLW is doing a doubleheader tonight and tomorrow from Miami. Tonight is headlined by Pentagon Jr facing Teddy Hart, while LA Park and Sami Callihan have a Falls Count Anywhere match and Dragon Lee revs it up against Rich Swann. Tomorrow we crown a new MLW Middleweight champion in a four-way ladder match featuring Andrew Everett, Dezmond Xavier, Kotto Brazil, and Hijo de LA Park, while Low Ki defends the big gold against none other than Konnan himself!
- CMLL Super Viernes will be on Claro TV tomorrow, and the main event appears to be Caristico/Valiente/Volador against Ultimo/Sanson/Cuatrero. However, after seeing Soberano Jr in the Cibernetico, I’m looking forward to his go with Forastero in the undercard in a Lightning Match (basically a match with a very short time limit, so it’ll be sprint all the way).
- Freelance Wrestling is in Chicago tomorrow night for Too Legit To Quit… but either GPA or Kylie Rae will do just that in the main event, an I Quit Match! Plus, the Powerbomb Independent Wrestling Championship is on the line as Tracy Williams defends against Kobe Durst, while Freelance champ Isaias Velazquez defends against Craig Mitchell.
- NOVA Pro heads out to Ashburn by the NFL training facility for Hoppy Place on Saturday in front of a sold-out crowd. And who can be surprised when Isaiah Frazier has a date with WWE Hall of Famer Tito Santana! Plus, two regulars face off in the main event as Logan Easton LaRoux battles Allie Kat, while we also get Hornswoggle and Rebel on the show.
- SHINE is doing a new chapter in New York City! Allysin Kay defends the SHINE title against Su Yung, while Aja Perera puts the Nova title on the line against Dementia D’Rose. Plus, it’s the first half of a doubleheader, with the second half being…
- EVOLVE Chapter 117! You know, assuming La Boom is still standing after Kay and Yung get done with it. Fabian Aichner defends the EVOLVE title against Austin Theory and Roderick Strong! Darby Allin challenges Kassius Ohno! AR Fox battles Curt Stallion! The WorkHorsemen face the Street Profits! (NOTE: given EVOLVE’s working relationship with NXT, I wasn’t sure whether to preview it in this section, but eh.)
- Sunday afternoon sees Beyond vs CHIKARA one last time in a show of Extreme Warfare: Revenge! (Andy PG gained 2 points of overness for previewing this card.) Tracy Williams (assuming he’s still champ) defends the Powerbomb title against Hallowicked! BLANK takes on Orange Cassidy! Penelope Ford and Solo Darling do battle! Fire Ant tries to survive Nick Gage! Wheeler YUTA vs Ophidian! So much more!
For your indie match of the week, we go to Black Label Pro in Indiana, as Jimmy Lloyd teams with Nick Gage to face Haku and Barbarian! Oh yeah! BRING THE INSANITY, BOYS!
