Angle/Steph/HHH in 2000

Was the whole Kurt Angle-Stephanie-HHH love triangle story-line supposed to have ended differently, or was that the plan all along? All that build-up and then….nothing, really.
It was supposed to be Angle stealing Stephanie and the McMahons breaking up on screen, but HHH argued that no one would believe this would happen in real life so it got changed to what we got. Which is once again why he's the smartest man in wrestling.
