WWF Wrestling Challenge – November 15th, 1992

By Brian Bayless on November 29, 2018

November 15, 1992

Well, technically this show aired on 11/14 in Boston show it had the featured match. Shows that aired on the 15th saw a replay of the Shawn/Bulldog match at “Saturday Night’s Main Event.”

From the Agridome in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada

Your hosts are Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan. They run down the “Saturday Night’s Main Event” card

This week’s featured match is Big Bossman vs. Shawn Michaels. Also in action are Razor Ramon, Natural Disasters, and Yokozuna plus an interview with Bret Hart.

Razor Ramon vs. Dale Hutchinson

Razor threatens the ring attendant if he messes up his gold as Gorilla refers to it as a “Mr. T Starter Kit.” What a topical reference. Razor beats down Hutchinson as Heenan predicts the World Heavyweight and Intercontinental Titles will change hands tonight. Razor catches Hutchinson with a fallaway slam then stretches him out. Gorilla plugs the newest edition of WWF Magazine with the Survivor Series preview as Razor hits a super back suplex before using a Razor’s Edge for the win (2:55).

Thoughts: Lots of hype for the SNME matches as Razor continues to impress in his squash matches.

WWF Special Report with Lord Alfred Hayes. This focuses on the Kamala vs. Undertaker Coffin Match at the Survivor Series as we see a clip of Undertaker & Paul Bearer in their workshop preparing a special coffin, which will be revealed next week. After that we hear from Harvey Whippleman with Kimchee as he promises Kamala will be the one to stuff Undertaker inside of the coffin. They are really pushing this feud hard but it did not draw at all and going with Kamala being petrified can only last for so long until people stop caring.

An ad for the Survivor Series airs.

Barry Horowitz vs. Max Moon

Horowitz cheap shots Moon in the corner as the announcers talk about the Coffin Match. Moon then outsmarts Horowitz and works the arm. We see the clown once again in the crowd as Moon stays in control. Heenan acts like he knows the clown’s identity as Moon hits the rolling fireman’s carry slam before a flying body press gets the win (1:49). The clown is now sitting ringside and celebrating while holding his giant mallet.

Thoughts: More focus on this clown as Moon gets another win.

Shane Croft vs. Yokozuna w/ Mr. Fuji

The announcers plug the Survivor Series hotline while Yokozuna throws salt in the air. He is also wearing a robe. Yokozuna overpowers Croft with ease as Fuji laughs. Yokozuna then hits an avalanche and stands over Croft and does some of his sumo gestures before hitting a sit-down splash from the middle rope (2:37).

Thoughts: Yokozuna continues to impress and with his size and ability seems to be in line for a push.

Joe Blevins welcomes Bret Hart to the interview platform. Blevins actually gets to ask a question and brings up how Bret is a fighting champion and his match against Papa Shango on SNME. Bret pats the title and says it means he is the best but will not hide behind the title and take on all challengers, whether it is Shawn Michaels at Survivor Series, Papa Shango, or a rematch against Ric Flair. Bret says its just like Flair says that “to be the man, you have to beat the man” as Bret happily says he’s the man. Bret then slaps hands with fans before leaving. Solid promo here from Bret as they’ve done a good job lining up challengers for him to face in the future.

Shawn Michaels vs. Big Bossman

No Sherri as she is out selling the effects of getting hit with a mirror. Bossman works a side headlock as the announcers talk about the Nighstick on a Pole match at the Survivor Series. Bossman clotheslines Shawn after a reversal sequence then hits mounted punches in the corner. Bossman heads up top and misses an attack and clotheslines himself on the top rope as Shawn is now in control. Shawn hits a dropkick then screams at Bossman to get up while Heenan predicts Shawn will become the next Intercontinental Champion. Bossman breaks up a back suplex attempt then hits an uppercut. Bossman backs Shawn into the corner then runs wild. Shawn fights back and sends Bossman outside with a super kick then we see Nailz head out holding the nightstick. Shawn then chokes out Bossman from behind as the bell rings as Bossman is counted out (4:30) **. Bossman escapes then takes the nightstick and slowly backs Nailz off as the ref acts as a buffer. Bossman heads back inside to chase Shawn away as Shawn was sneaking around.

Thoughts: Although it wasn’t the smoothest match it was wrestled at a fast-paced and they keep preventing Nailz and Bossman from getting physical to hype up their Survivor Series match but at this point the feud has cooled off.

Survivor Series Report with Gene Okerlund.

The Bam Bam Bigelow promo from “Superstars” airs.

Mike McGuirk lets us know that Shawn Michaels has left the building.

Jim Peterson & Brian Costello vs. Natural Disasters

The clown is now watching the match from the aisle as Typhoon beats on Costello. Peterson tags in and flexes at Earthquake but gets knocked down. The clown dances around then the Disasters hit a pair of splashes for the win (1:58). We then see the clown laughing as he playfully hits a fan with the mallet.

Thoughts: The clown was the primary focus of this match as the Disasters and Headshrinkers will feud after Survivor Series.

The show ends with a run down of SNME.

Final Thoughts: The featured match was decent and the rest of the show was hype for SNME as the PPV is just ten days away.
