WWF Wrestling Challenge – November 1, 1992
By Brian Bayless on November 27, 2018
November 1, 1992
From the Agridome in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada
Your hosts are Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan
This week, we will see El Matador vs. Razor Ramon.
And, we are doing a simulcast of the Tag Team Title match that we saw on “Superstars”
We see a replay of the Tag Team Title match between Natural Disasters and Money Inc. from “Superstars” plus the Nasty Boys face turn and Nasty Boys attacking Money Inc.
British Bulldog vs. Louie Spicolli
Gorilla once again notes how Bulldog is a “strong proponent” of ICOPRO. Bulldog works over Spicolli as we see the same clown in the crowd from “Superstars” up in the bleachers. We then hear from Bulldog putting over how its been a great year then congratulates Bret Hart for winning the title before hitting a running powerslam for the win (1:43). Bulldog then gives a shout out to ICOPRO after the match.
Thoughts: A quick win to put over Bulldog and to use his physique in order to plug some ICOPRO.
WWF Special Report with Lord Alfred Hayes. This focused on last week’s confrontation between Nailz and The Undertaker.
Papa Shango vs. Steve Gillespie
Heenan tells us that the Natural Disasters and Money Inc. will be shown via satellite this Monday night on “Prime Time Wrestling” as Shango beats on Gillespie. Shango pulls up Gillespie after a two count then hits a reverse shoulderbreaker for the win (1:27).
Thoughts: Another easy win for Papa Shango as he is apparently still feuding with Bret.
We then see a video package on Bret Hart set to “Makin’ Some Noise” by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. You can watch that video here
Razor Ramon vs. El Matador
This match is featured on the “WrestleFest ’93” Coliseum Home Video release. Matador fires away then knocks Razor through the ropes with a flying forearm. Heenan says that Razor cannot slap around Matador like he has everyone else so far because Matador can beat anyone on any night. Matador works the arm for a bit but Razor escapes. They go back-and-forth for a bit until Razor uses a hotshot. Razor stomps away then breaks out of an abdominal stretch with a hip toss. Razor catches Matador with a bearhug but Matador turns that into a sunset flip for two. Matador rams Razor into the corner ten times but Razor is able to block a monkey flip then hits the Razor’s Edge for the win (4:42) **.
Thoughts: Good action while it lasted. Matador worked hard and made Razor look credible. It also gives Razor a quality win as he heads into the Survivor Series main event.
Next week, Marty Jannetty returns. Also in action are the Headshrinkers, Crush, and Tatanka vs. one of the Beverly Brothers in the featured matchup. We hear from the Beverlys and Tatanka to close out the show.
Final Thoughts: The featured match was good and most of the show revolved around the Tag Team Title situation from Superstars. We are still rounding out the rest of the Survivor Series card.
