Question re Lesnar motivation

Hi Scott,
In the two most recent Survivor Series Lesnar has had two absolutely brilliant matches that are well within ****1/2 territory. Why does he feel so motivated to deliver when pitted with guys he could easily sniff at in AJ and Bryan, yet against foes of similar stature like Ambrose, Rollins, even Strowman and Reigns (bar WM 31 and Summerslam 2017) he can be rather begrudging in the effort he puts forth?

I've never pretended to understand Brock's motivations, but they've certainly done well to make him rich, so he must be doing something right.
