Impact, Indies, and Insanity: November 15, 2018
By Andy PG on November 15, 2018
Greetings from snowy DC, where once again we prove to have no clue how to handle a little white stuff.
Tonight on Impact, Sami Callihan challenges Brian Cage for the X Title, while Matt Sydal has a non-title match with Johnny Impact.
Your NFL Game of the Week of the Day is Green Bay/Seattle, while Tulane and Houston battle for control of the AAC West in the college football appetizer.
Up next, a look at the wrestling scene for the weekend.
Here are the highlights on the indie circuit for this weekend:
- Tomorrow night, CMLL Super Viernes comes to you on Claro as always. The highlight the Torneo de la Leyenda de Plata, a 16-man Cibernetico in honor of El Santo. In this case, though, they will pause once the last 2 are left and that match will happen at a later time.
- Tomorrow in Chicago, Freelance Wrestling presents Hired Gun. As it’s the season, your main event is an elimination match: GPA, Eye Candy Elliott, Anthony Henry, and James Drake against Kylie Rae, Isaias Velazquez, Gringo Loco, and Craig Mitchell. Others in action include Arik Cannon and Rickey Shane Page.
- GCW will be traveling to LA for a show, and it’s a Joey Janela special for FITE! Let’s see what he’s cooked up this time for tomorrow night… Human Tornado vs Penelope Ford? Okay. Ethan Page vs D’Lo Brown? Neat. Amazing Red vs Great Sasuke? Awesome. And your main event has Nick Gage defending the GCW title against… (record needle scratch) …David Arquette? Oh, Joey.
- Tomorrow night in Chattanooga, TN, my main man and #1 wrestling fan Mike “Papa” Hales presents the inaugural show of Making Towns Wrestling! It’s a primarily women’s show with Zoey Skye facing Samantha Heights as the presumed main event. Savanna Stone, Aja Perera, and Valentina Loca will also be in action.
- Then on Saturday in Hixson, TN (just down the road), the Scenic City Trios Championship will take place! It’s an 8-team one-day 6-man-tag tournament invitational. This year, teams representing Action Wrestling, Southern Underground, NOVA Pro (go team!), and WWA4 will join trios from Tennessee for a one-night show! Also announced for non-tournament action is AC Mack getting a special request match vs. Gary Jay!
- WXW will be in Dresden on Saturday for Broken Rules XVIII! The semifinals of a four-man mini-tournament will occur that will crown the undisputed championship of WXW, as Absolute Andy battles Bobby Gunns and Ilja Dragunov takes on PCO. Also, Toni Storm challenges for Melanie Gray’s women’s crown and Timothy Thatcher and WALTER have another throwdown.
Bring the insanity!
