WWE Evolution

With all the focus on Crown Jewel, it seems like a lot of people are overlooking the mess that Evolution has turned into. While the show was likely never going to be an absolute blockbuster, are you surprised by the fact that this show has become such an afterthought?
You had the (by some) dream match of Alexa vs. Trish…..which turned into Alexa and Mickie vs. Trish and Lita…..which then turned into Alicia and Mickie vs. Trish and Lita. You're using Ronda's big match against Nikki Bella. Then you have Nia and Asuka — who were the centerpieces of the women's division leading into WrestleMania — being used in a throwaway battle royal. And you're wasting Sasha — who is at least consistently over and reliable for a good match — in a senseless six person match. Then a complete lack of other possible dream matches like Beth vs. Nia or AJ Lee vs. Sasha (not surprising) or LayCool vs. Iiconics.
I understand they can't be blamed for certain injuries and that some people never would have returned, but are you surprised that this show is this lackluster?
Not really. The creative team themselves was basically told not to focus on the show according to what Dave was saying on the radio show, and the secondary market is taking a bath on the tickets, with prices as low as $7. Really, it's just a thing they're doing to say they can do it as an obvious counterpoint to the Saudi deal, and it is what it is.
That being said, Storm v. Shirai will be a hell of a match, and Becky v. Charlotte was really good at the last PPV and should be good, and Ronda always delivers, so I'm sure it'll be a good show. But I'll be glad when we're back to one show per month to build towards, because they've been all over the map for the past three months trying to make EVERYTHING seem like the biggest deal and all of the shows have suffered as a result.
