Test’s burial in late 1999

Since you are currently recapping that time period: yesterday Bruce admitted on his podcast that Test got buried hard, Vince didn't like him, HHH pushed for himself hard (there's a shocking revelation), and Test took it very hard and was devastated and confused he was made to look this bad.
I mean Test did get some renewed pushes afterwards (mainly in 2001 during/after the Invasion period and in 2006/07 in WWECW), but wasn't this burial week after week over-the-top awful/petty?
It's been crazy so far. People talk about someone getting "buried", but outside of maybe Zack Ryder, this is the biggest week-to-week burial I've ever seen on TV.
