Switchblade? Or Switch off?

Scott,
Out of curiosity, how do we calibrate on switchblade Jay White? I Can't honestly say I was much aware of him until he came back around to NJPW. So maybe he has some amazing shit on the indies that I have never seen… It seems like he's getting a pretty good shove where he is at right now. Mechanically, he seems to do well. I've definitely seen some matches that I can appreciate from him and he seems to be working hard. However, he just doesn't seem to "do it" for me. I don't want to buy him as a big deal despite his positioning on the card. Am I in the minority here? He seems like one of those guys that is missing something at this point in his career a la 2010 Drew McIntyre. I need you to validate my feelings Scott!

I like Jay White but they pushed him a bit too hard, too fast into that position as Switchblade. I can see what they were going for and as you noted, he's mechanically fine, but lacks a lot of the charisma and heel timing you need to be a tippy top guy. I think hanging out with the Bullet Club will help him a lot, because he can be the annoying heel ala Prince Devitt or Syxx, given he reminds me of a young Sean Waltman in a lot of ways. I'd give him time, he'll pay off soon.
