Russo going nuts

I agree that his ideas/stories/angles/characters became more stupid, more repetitive, trashier, more ridiculous while making less sense after Survivor Series 98. In my eyes the shows around and after WMXVI became 1.0Russo and barely watchable.

HOWEVER, McMahon did greenlight that stuff! He should be blamed just as much! Ratings/attendance/merch sales soared, but longterm effects (thanks to hardcore matches, dangerous spots, super-fastpaced spontaneous matches, ADD booking, shock value booking, women as eyecandy only, cheap violence, forced edginess) are still hurting the product to this day

Obviously big Vince is ultimately responsible for anything that goes on his TV shows. He also takes the blame for bad stuff as much as he takes credit for good stuff. That’s why it’s so disingenuous when Russo claims all the credit and attributes any failure to forces aligning against him.
