DQ finishes at PPVs/big events

Charlotte just won via DQ (if spoiler, sorry!) at SSD. My what a disappointing finish. Can't they just decide to do kayfabe changes, like title changes via DQ finish if the champ intentionally causes it (same with countout basically)?

I'm not watching it, so spoil away.

I mean, they COULD do that, but the DQ/countout rules have been in effect for decades, so I'm not sure why they'd give up their booking crutch now. By the same token they could just, I dunno, not book a DQ finish?
