Was Shawn Bitter?

Hi Scott,
Question on the '94 recaps, about Diesel getting the title and mega-push.
Given all we know about Shawn, how did he take it that his bodyguard/second/buddy was getting the rocket push to the title, while being in the company for only about a year?
Was Shawn bitter/resentful that it wasn't him getting the push? While this guy comes out of nowhere, Shawn basically helps make him a star, and he gets the huge push instead of Shawn.

Very unlikely that he was bitter, considering he basically stepped aside for most of 1994 so that Diesel could shine. Shawn was a jerk later (Wrestlemania 11) but he did everything in his power to make Nash into a star first.
