Mr. Bob Backlund as President

Did we miss out on the original heel authority figure in a major promotion in 1995? After moaning into a microphone at Wrestlemania XI, Mr. Bob Backlund went on to run for President. In July of 1995 the esteemed President of the World Wrestling Federation Jack Tunney surrendered the role of President. Should they have shifted to crazy old Backlund as President, putting carrots in Philly Cheesesteaks and questioning people about their lexicon, instead of Monsoon? Having Backlund run roughshod over the WWF with tyrannical and questionable rulings might have made for a little more fun. Maybe he even runs against Monsoon in a rigged election used to get more addresses for the catalog/WWF mailing list. He could still do the wildcard Survivor Series deal and the blank numbers for the Rumble but he gets so over the top and out of control they have to institute Monsoon as President to restore order at XII.

I find the idea of a crazed and corrupt President who spews nonsense on TV every week so unbelievable that I couldn't even finish reading this e-mail.
