Big Dave vs Bischoff et al

I’m not sure I quite understand why people are up in arms at Meltzer about stuff that happened almost 2 decades ago. Eric and Russo keep arguing that things he reported are wrong. Yet somehow Dave is still doing what he’s doing and those two are currently out of the wrestling business. If they were actually good at their jobs, they would still be employed right? Is this a case of them trying to drag Dave into their mud pit and using his name to get attention?
Granted, Dave has been wrong about things but he seems to own his mistakes for the most part.
Bro, controversy creates cash, bro!
Really I think that's all it is. They know they get a reaction out of fans (and Dave) by calling this stuff out, so that's why they do it.
