Protected Finishes

Scott,
What do you think are some of the better finishes of a match that protect both wrestlers? I always liked what Greg Valentine did in the 80's (the head to head collision after hitting the ropes, and then falling on his opponent by accident for the 3 count – Michael Hayes won the US Title with the same finish). Also, you can't go wrong with the Flair "low blow – feet on ropes – hook the tights" trifecta.
I'm not a big fan of "protecting" people with finishes. Wrestling is based on a philosophy of "first it's my turn, then it's your turn" and it's far better to just beat who you wanna beat now and then let them get revenge later. Kind of like 50/50 booking, but not compressed into two weeks like WWE does. Best example was always the Hogan challengers of the 80s, who would steamroll up the card beating your Brutus Beefcakes and JYDs on the way to Hogan to establish cred, and then lose to Hogan and have Beefcake and JYD get their wins back on the way down. In any sane world, Brock Lesnar should be out there putting some people over to pay back all the guys who he smashed on the way up.
