Vince and class
By Scott Keith on August 19, 2018
Hey Scott
Back in 2001, whilst being interviewed by Bob Costas, Vince was amusingly told "you're a fine one to be lecturing on class". Back then of course the WWF were pumping out a particularly smutty, objectionable product,
and what with being a prominent regular on-air character, coupled with his two decades of shady business tactics, you could kinda see Bob's point. Where do you think we're at now, 17 years on, at a point where WWE have landed two huge TV deals and Vince is
about to risk getting his fingers burned with the XFL again? How do you think Vince is perceived by the mainstream media in 2018? And, most importantly, does Vince have class?
John
Vince has class as long as it's financially beneficial for him to do so. But you'll note that all the negotiations and announcements for the FOX and USA deals were handled by his Stooges 2.0 team led by George Barrios and Paul Levesque, not Vince himself. So he's smart enough to know when to extract himself from a situation that he doesn't need to be involved with.
