The Dragon in 92?

Hey Scott, one thing I left off my 1991 insanity list from a weeks ago was the "debut" of that exciting new youngster The Dragon. Had the Dragon stuck around deep into 92 do you think he eventually would have had an IC run or perhaps a run at the top of the
cards against a guy like Michaels in fall 92 when the steroid stuff was going down? Or would the Dragon have just ended up as another El Matador, endlessly putting over the likes of Papa Shango and Kamala across the horn? I have to admit, I'm still a huge
fan of that repackage – the music, costume, and fire breathing entrance (minus the pretense that he wasn't Ricky Steamboat). It sure looked money for 91.

Oh no, he was well on his way to El Matador territory even before he debuted with the gimmick. Vince did not see him as a money guy in 1991 in the least.
