Brian Pillman-Marlena storyline in 1997

Before his untimely death in 1997, where was the "Brian Pillman has Marlena as his slave for a month" headed? Since Russo was the head writer then, I’m assuming Marlena would’ve turned on Goldust and sided with Pillman?
