Japan and necks
By Scott Keith on July 8, 2018
Hey Scott,
So at what point do we need to sit down and ask Japanese wrestling companies to slow it the hell down. Misawa, Hayabushi, Plum Mariko, and Masakazu Fukuda all died from complications related to nervous system injuries suffered in the ring. Shibata, Takayama, Honma, Chono, and now Hiromu all have had bad neck injuries from sloppy wrestling. And I’m certainly forgetting a bunch of them. Hell, Shibata, Takayama, Honma and Hiromu all happened within the last 3 years. At what point is there an ethical obligation to do or say something? This email might not make a lick of sense but it’s heartbreaking to see these talented guys go down like this.
I’d like to say I was surprised that Takahashi finally broke his damn fool neck, but I’m not. Him and Ospreay have been living on borrowed time for months now doing the shit they do. And yeah, someone 100 percent needs to tell these guys to tone it down for their own good, but I doubt they’d listen anyway.
