Good question(i hope)

Long, longtime fan since 1999 and you're still the guy I want to hear from for your opinion on whether something was good or not. Bought your archives so I can read along while I watch the Raws and Smackdowns on the Network that I didn't see the in their original airing.
So here's the question:
What about a wrestling show does nothing for you, or you actively dislike, but would acknowledge that it's good for business? I immediately thought of two things rewatching the Ruthless Aggression period:
1) Bra and panties-type matches for the women. Even back then I didn't find this very entertaining, but it does seem like something that might get horny teen boys to tune in.
2) The last Raw or Smackdown before a PPV. All just previews of the PPV matches with no storyline advancement, but I imagine it served the purpose of reminding viewers that there was a PPV Sunday.
Stuff like the bra and panties matches actually did not draw significant amount of ratings, and in fact by the time we got to the Bischoff era and he was playing a meta-version of Vince putting on “HLA” for ratings, I believe it was actually dropping numbers.
For me, it's probably the “Talk show” segments where the heel interviews “guests” and occasionally angles advance. Yeah, it's a decent way to put two people in a room together under the guise of an interview segment, but it's just SOOOOOOO from another era and feels like such a fake “Pro wrestling” style conceit. I think the Network shows like Talking Smack pulled it off much better and came across as much more natural.
