Money In The Bank winner from past eras
By Scott Keith on May 30, 2018
Hey Scott,
If Money In The Bank existed way back in the late-80s, who do you think would've been some great briefcase holders?
I think:
1987: I'd say Paul Orndorff having the case and trying to screw Hogan would've been nuclear heel heat.
1988: Ted DiBiase. He would've been a perfect inaugural case holder, right after WrestleMania IV especially, and probably could've successful cashed in against Savage sometime that fall to mega heel heat. He could've always dropped the title back in time for the MegaPowers angle.
1989: I think it's either Perfect or Rude here. The tease It against Hogan or Warrior.
1990: Perfect would work here, too.
1991: I think Roddy Piper having the briefcase and tormenting a champion Ricin's Flair would've been gold.
1992: Flair post WM8 would've worked well.
1993: The Narcissist Lex Luger would've been a fun, asshole heel to hold the briefcase. Or maybe Savage, trying to cash-in on Yoko?
Thoughts?
So weird — two people sent in this exact question (but worded differently) at the exact same time.
Anyway, yeah, Mr. Perfect carrying around the briefcase is tremendous. Also Owen Hart in 1994 would have been insufferable. Diesel could get it in 1995 and cash in on Backlund to begin his reign. Lots of great possibilities.
