What was the deal with Hulk Hogan and the immense amount of cheating he did in his matches? And just his general whiny, crappy attitude? He raked eyes, he raked backs, he cheap shot his people, he was the worst kind of sore loser, and he always upstaged people. How was that guy the biggest babyface of all time?
Clearly America is a nation of cheaters and poor sports, so he was a natural hero for the masses. They just didn't know that Bret Hart was who they really needed as their hero.
