Why didn’t Dusty ever work Saturdays?

Hi Scott,
I am sure you get this a lot, but why should I lie when its true? Your blog is really awesome.
After nearing the end of watching the World Championship Wrestling shows on the Network (currently in March 1989), there was something I was curious about:
Why did Dusty never wrestle on these shows, like, ever?
From the first show on the network in November 1985 until him leaving the promotion at the end of 1988, he was there every week cutting promos, getting into altercations etc. but he never wrestled a single match on there. And it seems like he was really the only one since even Ric Flair wrestled there at least a few times, but Dusty never….
Did he feel that as bookerman it was beneath him to wrestle like those other common wrestlers?
Was he under the impression that the marks in the audience had to pay to see him wrestle?
Or what was it?
Would be glad if you have ever heard something about this.
Thanks for your time.
With kind regards,
Daniel
Wait, let me get this straight…you want MORE Dusty matches?!?
As for the reasoning, I imagine he just didn't have the time to wrestle and book the shows at the same time. Plus he didn't want to set the bar too high for the young guns to follow him, daddy.
