Rebuild

HI Scott,
In pro wrestling anyone can be rebuilt with the right booking, patience and fans buying in. I guess a recent example is Jinder Mahal, the fan reaction was largely poor, but he was rebuilt to become world champion after ages of floundering on B/C shows.
Can you name some of your favourite wrestlers that were once nothing then became something?
Wait, how was Jinder Mahal rebuilt? They literally just put the World title on him after months of being a jobber, and the title reign was a complete disaster where no one bought him as a serious threat.
HHH is the prime example of someone recreating themselves multiple times and finally hitting on the gimmick that clicks. I'd also say JBL, although by the time he was rebuilt into a main event gimmick, he couldn't carry his end in the ring.
If you're looking outside of WWE, Cody Rhodes is the most striking example, although my favorite is Tetsuya Naito, who took the whole real life story of being abandoned by the fans and turned it into a gimmick where they ended up loving him even more.
