Bart Gunn
By Scott Keith on March 4, 2018
Hi Scott,
At best Bart Gunn was an ok tag wrestler, poor promo and average look. Post brawl for all he had *some* kinda momentum, he wasn't exactly in line to be challenging Stone Cold Steve Austin on PPV but even a throwaway one time match with him on raw would have been better than what they ended up doing. I know it's boring fantasy booking, but what would you have done with him post brawl for all? Put him in the Big Bossman McMahons bodyguard role?
On a similar note, do you think Dan Severn would have more if an impact if he had come by in todays era? Not a good fit at all for 1998 attitude era WWF, but give him a manager in NXT and have him suplex the hell out of guys and tie them up in all kinds of crazy submissions and you might have something…
Cheers!
I never saw anything in Severn as far as being a top level pro wrestler. He was a total black hole of charisma and didn't have a good look, either.
As for Bart…tricky. I think probably the best use would have been as a Hardcore champion. But I don't think the Brawl for All got him over enough to make him a real contender to anything.
