Vince and football question

Is Vince McMahon a football fan? He portrays the XFL as giving the game back to fans, but is he a fan himself?
Everything I've ever read about him says no. In fact, when he was launching the XFL the first time, his press conferences featured references to guys who had retired in the 70s (ex-wrestlers, basically) and had no connection to the current game.
He's just not a REAL fan like I am. Go footballs! Movin' the chains!
