Advice To Your Younger Self

On the heels of the DDP letter we saw a couple weeks ago, I was wondering:
If you could give your younger, rookie self some advice, what would you tell him other than "Lay off the Benoit hype train, just trust me on this one"?
Don't trust anyone who claims that writing for them will be a lucrative venture, probably don't hire Sean Shannon as a website designer, and back up your goddamned computer weekly so you don't have to spend years reconstructing your work.
