Scott,
In the old days, from McMahon/Ventura and Monsoon/Heenan to Ross/King (with a little Piper/Macho/HBK sprinkled in) the commentary felt real. Old grudges, both real and storyline, were referenced in one way or another. It felt like these guys hated/loved or loved to hate each other. Examples like Heenan constantly ragging on Hogan or Piper calling Heenan “Weasel.”
Has the modern era killed this too? Is it so manufactured these guys are just drones out there? How can it be all Vince’s fault? He’s been around the business most his life, does he actually prefer this hyper-branded, company line, sterilized environment?
Yes, yes he does.
