The Anti-Sting

Hey Scott,
Just wondering,
People sometimes say Sting should have been much, much bigger than he ended up, given his look, charisma, etc, but for whatever reason, it never clicked.
My question is what wrestler, do you feel, with almost nothing going for him, not an indy darling, nothing that would endear him to Vince (size, hair, etc) no sign at all that he would make it "in this business," and despite all this, succeed leagues beyond what would be expected?
Honky Tonk Man. Looked like a pudgy Memphis geek with a ridiculous gimmick, and yet he got himself over and managed to draw on top as Intercontinental champion and stayed there for over a year.
