Corporate Panic time?

After the last quarter report and conference call, you noted that panic time would come when WWE needed to renegotiate their domestic TV deal, but has it started already? WWE.com has an exclusive 3-month free Network promotion tied to Summerslam. Could this be a sign of corporate panic from last quarter’s high churn numbers? All of these new subscribers would presumably stay subscribed for the three months, helping WWE maintain a Summerslam boost beyond the corporate quarter.

I don’t think there’s any overriding panic about ratings and money coming in, but they did make specific promises about Network numbers and profits, and they’re not hitting either of their targets for those, so there’s probably some limited amount of “panic”, yes. Just wait until the USA deal is up, though, if you REALLY want to see Vince losing his mind.
