The Icons
By Scott Keith on April 6, 2017
Dont know why but I was thinking last night about that WrestleMania at the start where Hulk Hogan was the host, then suddenly Steve Austin comes down, and finally The Rock and everyones like OMG the 3 biggest stars and icons in the ring together on the biggest stage possible and the world went nuts.
I mean later in the show some huge stars relatively speaking were just casually mentioned and seen watching at ringside like Bret Hart and Harley Race and they would clearly have been out of there depth being involved in a segment like that and not fitted the scene at all.
However, had Randy Savage been alive at the time, healed any rifts, still instantly recognizable as the Macho Man instead of his grey old man look of his later days would he have belonged in that ring with those 3 and get the same reactions and everyone would have been even more crazy over what they were seeing happening.
Anybody else you could make a case for either had they been alive and available to join in?
I think that having the reunited Megapowers out there with Rock & Austin would probably make everyone’s head explode as it is. Heck, given that group, you could probably make a sort "Mount Rushmore of wrestling", so to speak! How come we’ve never discussed that topic before?
Anyway, no, I don’t think you’re gonna find much more star power available at the time than those four. Flair, maybe? And that’s a big maybe.
