WWE In England

Hi Scott
Thought this was worth sharing on the blog

It’s Paige’s Dad (Ricky Knight) and brother (Zak Knight) giving their thoughts on WWE’s newly announced UK Championship Show for England.

Folk living outside Norfolk (the UK one) might struggle to understand Ricky Knight’s accent, but basically he accuses WWE of invading his territory. Reason being that he has a promotion (WAW) which films the same studio in the city where WWE plans to do their two shows. And he’s not happy that they announced ticket sales the same day that he’s got a big weekend with a main event that happened tonight of Del Rio v Christ Masters. He’s claiming their stepping on his turf.
A friend who did the interview says that Ricky wasn’t cutting a promo and is genuinely aggrieved, but I think it’s good for the city. At the same time, whilst it’s a very well equipped venue for filming – it’s small (about 600 capacity) and WWE could easily fill bigger venues, even if it is for relatively less-known UK wrestlers and cruiserweights.
Wait, Vince McMahon would invade a smaller promotion’s territory and steal their TV time? I AM SHOCKED, SHOCKED I SAY!
Look, every one of these indy promoters who thought that Vince had mellowed and was going to use the WWE Network to allow them all to join hands and sing Kumbaya together kind of deserves what they get.
