Elimination Chamber
By Scott Keith on February 15, 2017
So it seems like WWE found a way to evolve the Elimination Chamber. The PPV match was one of the best mains I’ve seen. Everything looked great, and the story was well-told. (Your point that maybe they didn’t need to set it up with AJ losing still holds.)
Is that the best Elimination Chamber match ever? I know the WWE said that there had been twenty (!) such matches now. Is there any better than last night?
I honestly don’t even remember, and I reviewed a whole DVD full of them! It’s a pretty forgettable gimmick match that’s usually just sandwiched between Rumble and Wrestlemania. I remember Cena winning the one where Edge cashed in at the end and I remember the one where Shawn Michaels superkicked Undertaker to set up their final match, but the rest are kind of a blur. Here’s my DVD review again:

The problem is that it’s never used to SETTLE anything, it’s just a tool to get from one show to another. Like, why did Bray Wyatt need to win the title in a Chamber match? Why couldn’t Cena just defend against him and lose that way? I think if it had a stronger purpose, it’d be more memorable.
