WM 33: The Wyatt Family Explodes
By Scott Keith on February 14, 2017
As you noted in your Elimination Chamber rant, Bray Wyatt vs Randy Orton feels absolutely nothing like a Mania main event. Can we just have Orton knock down Wyatt as soon as the bell rings, hear the voices in his head, do some main event spazzing and grunting, pound the mat, coil like the Apex Predator that he is, then offer himself up for Sister Abigail? Wyatt retains and the family is united.
There will be a zillion other matches on the card anyway to get our wrestling fix from, and the finger-poke angle effectively keeps Randy Wyatt around, which at the very least means he won’t go back to being the same old Randy Orton again. You could then potentially have the Wyatt family destroy guys every week until American Alpha recruits Kurt Angle to train them. When that fails, have Ambrose resort to getting the Shield back together for one night in an attempt to take the family out at Summerslam. Any buys?
Or should we all just resign ourselves to the fact that babyface Randy is going to RKO Bray right back to the midcard?
Hey man, if Brock Lesnar hadn’t smashed Orton’s head open and opened them up to a lawsuit at Summerslam, I’d be all over your plan, but as it stands, we’re getting Orton’s latest failed run as #1 boring World champion babyface at Wrestlemania. Of that I would bet many pesos.
