1995 WWF

A few 1995 WWF questions.

1. When they did the double DQ with Bret & Diesel at Rumble 1995, was the plan always to bring them back together for a rematch at a later date, or did that just happen organically by Survivor Series 1995

2. Was Yokozuna always going to be Owen’s mystery partner for WM XI? Was anyone else discussed?

3. Were they always planning on going back to the Smoking Gunns winning the belts back from Yoko/Owen, or did that happen because Lex Luger left? Were the Allied Powers ever supposed to win the belts?

4. Was Diesel supposed to be champ going to WM XII, and did they give it to Bret because Diesel wasn’t working?

​1. I don’t think there was any firm plans for a rematch at that point, no. They just couldn’t find a way out of the finish so that’s what we got.

2. It was always Yoko, although Chris Benoit was discussed at one point leading up to the show before WCW locked him down.

3. Had they got over, I’m sure they would have won the belts, but the Allied Powers were pretty much as big a disappointment as Luger was a single, so no, it was never in the cards.

4. Diesel was supposed to be the next Hulk Hogan and hold the title for four years or whatever, and it was really only the Bulldog match that finally convinced Vince that it was a failure and time to go back to Bret. So yes, Diesel very likely WOULD have been champion at Wrestlemania 12 and beyond. ​
