The Arrowverse Thread – 02/01/17

Hey, two good episodes for me on Tuesday! Even if James Olson continues to be the Dino Bravo of the show.

– Supergirl was entertaining as hell, although I don’t buy Livewire as her "nemesis". Would she even HAVE a nemesis, I wonder? Maybe the real Hank Henshaw if he comes back yet again as "Cyborg Superman".

– The chemistry between Supergirl and Mon-El continues to be amazing, even if the "Do you like me, like me?" stuff as a tad too "high school romance" at times. But it’s the CW, so what are ya gonna do?

– Also, it feels like they’re getting ready to drop all pretence of caring about CatCo as a location and just have everything based out of the DEO offices for cost-saving reasons. Which is fine, I guess.

– Flash was great, back to the old groove again with the introduction of Gypsy, as the JL Detroit suddenly becomes the least-likely source of characters to mine for inspiration ever. And yet we now have Vibe, Gypsy, Vixen AND Steel on these shows in some form.

– Favorite bit on Flash was Cisco prepping for battle and looking for chances out of ten, to which Julian quips "You’re a solid 1, mate" and then clarifies later that he WAS trying to be nicer. It was a really well-written and acted little sequence.

– Oh boy, Iris and Wally as brother-sister crime-fighting team. Can’t see how THAT might go sideways on them at all.

– HR continues to wave around that drumstick like a magic wand, and now we learn he has a magician friend. Hmmm….

– Riverdale is actually aired on Netflix week-to-week up here instead of over the air like some kind of caveman, so I’ll be watching that tonight.
