2010 Rumble
By Scott Keith on January 7, 2017
Hey Scott,
Well it’s Rumble season and there’s much chatter online about this year’s card. I have faith it should be an awesome show with a huge crowd. Has your opinion changed on who’s winning this year’s Rumble?
Anyway, I was reliving the 2010 Rumble match and man, it is so great. To each his own, and I know I’m in the minority here, but it is my favorite Rumble match of all-time. Great star power, awesome stories, no logjam periods, and guys just throwing finishers. Plus, everyone gets their shine. Guys like Carlito, R-Truth, Cody Rhodes, etc. come in and hit their finishers and look like a threat. I love it.
I revisited your rant, and you gave that match the full monty at *****. Also, you give the Rey-Taker match ****. In the spirit of the season, any chance you might check that show out again 7 years later? See if those ratings hold?
Is that the one where Edge came out and won with the Grizzly Adams beard? Yeah, that was a damn good Rumble. Plus there was a great storyline running through it with Punk preaching to the crowd while his cronies threw people out. And some really good stuff with Shawn Michaels teasing one last Rumble win before getting it yanked away. It was good stuff all around. Do I want to go back and watch it again? No. But it was still great.
As for this year, I think it’s pretty clearly Brauny the Snowman. I just don’t see any other serious possibilities with Reigns/Cena/AJ/Owens/Jericho all occupied elsewhere on the show.
