Who drew $$$

By Scott Keith on January 3, 2017

Scott……….I’ve realized from reading the observer posts that something I don’t know a lot about is who drew big money on top???

I know the obvious like Austin and Hogan, and I now know that Sting wasn’t a draw……..but what are some more examples of people who drew big $$$

Bret Hart?
Ric Flair?
Undertaker?
Vader?
Savage?
HHH?

Also – besides Sting and Warrior who are some other duds?

The biggest one besides Hogan and Andre was Bruno, and to a certain degree Andre. Everyone else is leagues below them.

Bret Hart wasn’t really a draw on his own, he was more of a guy who could stabilize business on top until the next guy got there.

Flair drew as travelling champion around the country for a long time, until WCW killed him off in 1990 by having him do too many jobs. Really though, he was never a big draw in the PPV era.

Undertaker didn’t draw on top with the belt at all. His value was later on as the special attraction at Wrestlemania. In his prime he was more of the B-show headliner.

Vader was a big attraction in Japan, but not with WCW. But then no one drew with WCW at the point he was champion.

Savage did really well in 88 as champion and better than Warrior, but not quite Hogan levels or anything. But in a world without Hogan, he would have been champion for a long time and probably drawn big on top.

HHH ended up being a draw by sheer longevity and had good PPV numbers in 2000-2002, but his biggest shows were Wrestlemanias where the show itself was the draw and he just happened to be the guy on top. So it’s kind of misleading.
