A Female Shawn Michaels

By Scott Keith on December 23, 2016

Hey Scott.

In order to keep this from being a "controversial" question, I want to start by saying I am a huge fan of the current women’s division in WWE. The "Four Horsewomen" are all extremely entertaining, with many others seemingly close behind them (Alexa Bliss in particular has seriously stepped her game up since she was given the spotlight). The falls-count-anywhere match on Raw was one of my favorites this year, and they’ve deserved every shattered glass ceiling they’ve received.

However, as good as they are, as far as they’ve come, and as much as they’ve mastered the art of storytelling in the ring, none of them have the perfection of execution of someone like Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart or He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Sasha in particular can be so sloppy that I genuinely worry for her health, if she weren’t as flexible as she is I think she’d have broken her neck by now.

So why do you think this is? You don’t have to look any further than gymnastics to know that women are absolutely capable of perfect execution, so what gives? Just not enough women interested in wrestling in general (not that I would blame them, having grown up on the execrable Diva’s division)? Something about the way WWE trains them? Any thoughts?

Yeah, but how are they supposed to be training to be top level athletes when they’re in the kitchen making their man a sandwich? AM I RIGHT, FELLAS?

HIGH FIVE! UP HERE!
