Blown Taker/Lesnar opportunity?
By Scott Keith on December 22, 2016
I know you’ve never been a fan of Lesnar ending the streak…..but if things had played out differently after, would you have looked at it in a better light?
What I mean is, instead of doing Taker/Wyatt and the sumemrslam/hell in a cell matches waaaay after the mania encounter, why not do Taker/Lesnar II at the very next mania with Taker in the role HBK was in a few years earlier. Taker becomes obsessed with beating Lesnar so he puts his career on the line. Taker of course losses.
In the grand scheme of things it would make sense to me. Lesnar was the one guy he could never beat, so him ending his career and the streak would make all the sense in the world.
I just don’t feel like the Streak ever actually NEEDED to end. It was pretty much an unlimited cash cow for Wrestlemania, every year, that instantly gave every Undertaker match at least some amount of drama going into it. You can milk that as many times as you want, but you only get to end it once, and now it’s gone forever.
But yeah, Taker definitely should have come roaring out all fists and fire, angry about losing or at least mentioning it.
