Virgil face turn

In the WrestleMania VII rant you said…

" In fact, why would he continue calling himself “Virgil” after leaving Dibiase’s employ, anyway?”

I love this idea! The week after the face turn he could have said to DiBiase “Virgil’s not my name. That’s the name you gave me to rob me of my individuality. My name is Mike Jones and I’ll make sure you never forget it!”

Something like that would have gotten a huge pop. It’s kind of too bad he didn’t really have the charisma to maintain being over as a face for very long.

​Yeah, I understand the branding thing, but differentiating himself from the manservant role would have gone a long way towards making him less of a jobber later on. ​
