Bad Angles You Actually Liked
By Scott Keith on December 8, 2016
Hey there, sugar! Kyle here from the Obtuse Angles Wrestling podcast available on iTunes and obtuseangles.libsyn.com
We have an upcoming episode we would love to hear your hot take on and get input from the brains at the blog: Which angles or workers are universally recognized as terrible but you happened to like them? Personally, I loved the Val Venis "Choppie Choppie" angle. I thought it was hilarious and campy as hell. What say you?
Well, one of the things we’re talking about right now in the Observer Flashbacks is of course the Hogan v. Slaughter feud. Admittedly it was terrible in execution and badly timed due to the war ending so fast, but on PAPER the idea of American hero Sgt. Slaughter turning traitor, getting a mega heel push to the title, and then facing ultimate American hero Hogan is a solid one. Plus Slaughter lost a ton of weight and really seemed to be making an effort in a role where he could have rightly phoned it in from Iraq. So I’d go with that one.
