Can You Get Serious For A Moment

By Scott Keith on November 19, 2016

Ok so I know there’s a running gag around here about “rebooking” Starrcade ’89 and basically just rebooking anything. But I would like a serious answer from you, as much thought & input as you like. Or not. I personally would love a serious approach, with some context. But again, your choice….

How would you really REBOOK The Invasion? All things being the same, before Vince made his choices, example being all the WcW big guns who had fat Time Warner contracts were going to have to get PAID to return. And ECW still becomes a thing & they merge.

Who would you have rolled with initially from WcW? Would you have slowly brought in the bigger WcW stars as needed? Who would you have signed as a guy who was just too important to start an Invasion without? How does your Invasion begin, continue, then end? How many PPV’s or years does it cover?

Just some example questions. I’m legitimately interested on what you would’ve done if Vince said: “Mr. Keith, you have the book. Do what you will and make it work. Or you’re fucking fired. Pally”

It’s just one of wrestling’s biggest misses. Such a disappointment, especially those who grew up on Hulkamania & got to geek out one more time during the Wars. It’s intriguing when I hear or read an actual sensible, logical, and probably successful alternative Invasion.

I’d start by turning John Cena heel and then have four guys call themselves the Mt. Rushmore of wrestling. Then everyone would leave money on the table.
