Vince and WM Revisionism

I’m watching WrestleMania X, and between every match is a “WrestleMania Moment”, narrated by Gorilla Monsoon. Some interesting choices…
– WrestleMania 1? Glimpses of celebrities.
– WrestleMania 2? The Battle Royal
– WrestleMania III? The largest attendance record… allegedly.
– WrestleMania IV? Randy Savage’s Championship victory.
– WrestleMania V? PIPER’S PIT!
– WrestleMania VI? Hogan jobbed! (Monsoon: Nobody is unbeatable!)
– WrestleMania VII? The Blindfold Match!
– WrestleMania VIII? Undertaker’s entrance!
– WrestleMania IX? The Toga Party and “an afternoon of miscarriages of justice.”
Even as a kid, a few of these choices were odd, but then I had to yet to discover that this was still around the time where if you didn’t work for the company, you either didn’t exist, or were completely downplayed. I could only imagine how some of the future WrestleMania’s could be summed up under the same formula. Instead of the Ironman Match at Mania 12, maybe talk about the copycat footage of the OJ police chase, or WrestleMania 17’s Gimmick Battle Royal instead of TLC 2 or Austin’s turn, and WrestleMania 20 never happened.
Well we certainly know what moment from WM 23 will get replayed for all eternity now.
