Gold-berg Chant

Why is the Goldberg chant done in the same sing-song cadence used to taunt opposing goalies in the NHL? Where did it come from?

​I think it just came about because that chant matches the cadence of the music. Or WCW fans were idiots. But more likely the music thing.
