You have probably heard the news already, but I would like to know if the director has to have WWE permission to use their logo (+wcw, ecw) character names etc? I know Ballers doesn’t have NFL permission but they don’t care.
Never gonna happen. Unless it’s turned into an incredibly fictionalized "names changed to protect the innocent" deal like Narcos, there’s no way WWE is going to allow their brand to be dragged through the mud like that. And they’d be totally justified and probably SHOULD sue to prevent anything from getting out. It’ll sit in development hell and go through a bunch of lawsuits and then disappear for good.
