Ted Dibiase as WWF champ

Were they always planning on vacating the title? Or did they see that Dibiase wasn’t drawing and made the move to get the title off him?

Ha, hard work. Er, I mean, yeah, so difficult! Not like that slacker Bayless, going on vacation. The nerve.

Anyway, the plan was for Dibiase to win the title and lose it to Hulk at WM5, but he flopped as "champion" and they panicked and redid the brackets to put Savage over instead. Probably the wise move.
