Wrestling in Mexico

Hey Scott.

Whats the deal with wrestling in Mexico? We all know its the birthplace of Lucha but I never hear it covered or talked about on the wrestling websites or social media, unlike wrestling in Japan or even here in the UK. Any reason for this? Is it still a profitable market?

​It does OK. CMLL and AAA have definitely had better times and apparently the Mexican economy has gone to shit and it kind of killed business overall down there. But Lucha Underground tends to get all kinds of social media attention and you can watch it on iTunes if you want to check it out.

​I’m a bit worried about access to lucha once Trump wins and builds that huge wall, though. Will luchadors get a special exception to cross since they’re masked and Trump won’t be able to tell how Mexican they are? ​
