So someone was feeding Dave bogus information, right? 

I mean, Dave wouldn’t have known about the amputation (because it was a well-kept secret) and been covering for Kerry, correct?

He definitely didn’t know until after the DeBeers incident, correct.  It was probably the best kept secret in wrestling for years.  Had he known, that’s not the kind of thing he would cover up.  Once it was out he was talking freely about it in 88, like around Superclash 3 when Vince tried to get Kerry banned for having an artificial foot.
