Win/Loss Effect on Lesnar in WWE?

By Scott Keith on July 9, 2016

> Hi, Scott.

> How do you think the result of Lesnar vs. Hunt tonight would potentially change his aura/booking/storyline in WWE?
>

> Your readers have seemed somewhat divided, with answers depending on whether Lesnar wins or loses. I don’t think beating Hunt (as opposed to a big name/former champion whom even WWE fans who don’t watch UFC might recognize) instantly rejuvenates Brock to where he was after the Streak or even when he came back to WWE four years ago; on the other hand, I don’t think a loss hurts that much (and opens up some storyline options), but Vince might be a little more reluctant to put Lesnar over a big WWE star like Orton if Tout is going crazy with reactions to Lesnar getting KO’d.

> Also, isn’t a little weird for two theoretical babyfaces like Cena and Orton to lose their first PPV matches since returning from injury, even if they – well, probably just Cena – end up winning the feud?

> Thanks.

Man, the Brock thing is just so weird. They’re really rolling the dice letting him fight 6 weeks out of Summerslam, because he could easily break a hand or get concussed, and then they look silly. I think best case scenario either way is Brock either winning or losing in a spectacular blaze of glory, hopefully quick enough that no damage is done to him physically. He can survive a quick knockout in a crazy slugfest because it’s easy heel heat for wrestling fans to heckle him, but I think losing a long fight where Hunt beats on him for three rounds could hurt. A lot.
